| Comments: | Lift with Ian, 8am from Caroline's house (Bashley). Lots of NFR - 10 gents, 6 ladies.
'Old course' due to fallen tree. Short lap, down from ridge, back towards start, hold-up at new gate onto long narrow uphill path. Over foot-bridge to long lap, then repeat of first bit; claggy mud in parts, long slow drags uphill. Good spread of cakes at finish. Coffee-stop on way home at Rownhams on M27. |

| Comments: | Got there early (before 9am) to get in nearest car park, but lots there already. 10min walk to start.
Usual course, 2 laps, plus long hill to finish. Much muddiness. Only 5 NFR ladies, 12 gents. Lots of cakes at finish, plus warm drinks. |

Lots of gooey mud, plus half on gravel. No big hills but long 'undulations'. Hard run, back seized up on long muddy uphill, despite tape support. Lots of NFR there (club x-c champs) Cakes at finish. Re-hydration at Wetherspoons (Lymington). |

| Comments: | Alec drove me there, despite leaving home at 6:45am for 8:30 start.
Warm enough for cycle shorts, and joined in fancy dress theme with Dawn's 'rainbow' tutu. Everyone started with waterproofs, but most soon took them off. Lots of sticky mud, plus 2 steep hills to walk up. Would have been super views in better weather. Hard run, tape support on back but still seized up on long muddy hills. Lots of NFR there; pleased to get under 2 hours. Entry included hot food in hall at finish. Re-hydration at Drovers Inn (Gussage-All-Saints). |

| Comments: | Birthday celebration. First road race for nearly 10 years!
Local physio sponsored race, and offered free kinesio-taping. Ideal for my back. Not as flat as I thought it would be. Started with '60 minute' pacer's group. First half mainly down, so left pacer behind. Long uphill drag for 5th mile, getting steeper - I struggled. Recovered in last mile, but just missed 1 hour target. Back not too bad, but glutes/hamstrings/calfs all sore. |

Good value £13, but no T-shirt this year. Mostly on hard tracks round Lulworth estate - very dry and dusty. Hilly, had to walk up couple of steep bits. Still did 10-min miling (very slightly slower than last time). Well organised, but long wait for results. They let me take my trophy before presentations - Alec waiting for his beer! Back to '7 Stars' pub for late lunch. |

Slightly different course to last year (finish on prom). Very scenic, had to walk up 3 main hills on coast path. Queue to get through gate at top of 1st hill. Stopped at Kings Arms (Stoborough, Wareham) on way home. Sea-food linguini very good. |

| Comments: | Alec took me there, £4.50 on ferry. Race start 10:30, ½ hour earlier than last time.
Similar course to last year. Crowded start on beach, ok with chip timing. Started at front of 3rd 'wave', so no queues up zig-zag. Long hill up from beach, then undulating over heath; lots of puddles, but rain helped make soft sandy dunes more runnable. Taping on back and dodgy knee OK for a couple of miles, not so good after. Slower than last year; struggled for last mile back on beach (despite following wind). Lots of other NFR there. Phil ran it too, supported by Claire and girls. Home via Wareham (avoiding ferry) with lunch at Kings Arms in Stoborough again. | ||||||

1st proper run since Sept. Put tape on dodgy knee and tried old orthotics in shoes. Managed to keep going, slow and steady. Lots of fancy dress (just my usual xmas t-shirt and santa hat) |
